Carolyn Barker AM

Carolyn Barker is an Australian-based executive manager, publisher, journalist, adjunct professor and company director who travels throughout Australia and internationally to consult to the private and public sectors.

Carolyn has conceptualised and edited the bestselling Management Today book series which examines management, leadership, innovation and culture. She has a passion for innovation in the Performing and Visual Arts. In 2005, Carolyn became a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to business through management and education and to the Arts.

Carolyn is a serial innovator who is sought out by businesses of all shapes and sizes to incubate ideas and bring them to market. Her optimistic and energetic attitude to learning combined with a personal motto is "If you dream it, it will come", makes her an innovation mentor and advocate.

Karyn Brinkley

Karyn Brinkley is a communicator, strategist, change agent and ex-tap dancing teacher (the latter qualification gained at 17 so she would have ‘something to fall back on’ while her imagined tribe of children was busy at school).

Originally trained as a copywriter and journalist, she still dreams of writing novels, but is too well-fulfilled, well-paid and well-fed in her executive management role to give it all up to starve in a garret, however noble the ambition.

In her professional roles, she has worked for academics, advertisers, farmers, foresters, lawyers, legislators, port operators and premiers. Her hardest work is keeping her two stupid dogs out of her bed on winter nights.

A proud mother of a tweenage son, in her spare time she dabbles in property investing, travel, decorating, blogging and, occasionally, cooking roasts with Carolyn.

Her biggest achievement is surviving several years working in a UK university without being deported for her accent.

Her biggest regret is throwing away her tap shoes, seven house-moves ago.

In 2014 she is moving to Paris.
